Pembroke Interim Drainage Improvements
Pembroke Interim Drainage Improvements
The resident at 7110 Pembroke Rd. has expressed concerns of storm runoff entering her property from the city-owned drainage right-of-way located across from her residence. The city-owned drainage right-of-way conveys runoff from 324 acres located northwest of the Pembroke and Rochelle intersection with an approximate 20% to 1% annual chance storm event discharges of approximately 750 cfs to more than 1,600 cfs, respectively. A potential drainage project to address the drainage issues along Pembroke Rd. between Abe Lincoln Rd. and Rochelle Rd. has been developed with an approximate cost of $24.9 million. The proposed interim project will provide relief to the property at 7110 Pembroke Rd and comprises of an earthen berm, an earthen pilot channel, and an outfall. The required tree clearing has already been completed in FY2021 through Storm Water Operations and City Arborist coordination.
In February 2022, it was determined that In-House forces were no longer able to construct the project. Construction will now be performed by an on-call contractor and an additional $530k shortfall was funded in FY23.
