Comments: 1. What suggestion, recommendation, request or input would you like to share with City Council regarding the FY25-26 proposed budget? [#319218]

Respondents most frequently expressed concerns about budget allocations for environmental protection, with many urging increased funding for conservation, habitat restoration, and climate resilience initiatives. Several responses highlighted the importance of maintaining or expanding support for public access and recreational opportunities, such as trails and parks. There was repeated emphasis on transparency and accountability in how resources are managed and spent, with calls for clearer reporting and community involvement in decision-making.

A number of respondents advocated for prioritizing sustainable practices and renewable energy investments, while others stressed the need to address wildfire prevention and water resource management. Some comments [e.g. specifically requested more funding for educational programs and outreach to increase public awareness of resource management issues.

Concerns about potential budget cuts to essential services, such as maintenance and staffing, were also noted, with respondents warning that reductions could negatively impact both environmental outcomes and public enjoyment. A few responses included suggestions for alternative revenue sources, such as partnerships or grants, to supplement the budget.
