Most respondents expressed concerns about transparency and public engagement in the proposed charter change process, with many emphasizing the need for clear communication and accessible information. Several responses called for more opportunities for community input and public forums before any referendum is held. There was frequent mention of the importance of ensuring that changes benefit the broader community rather than special interests.

A significant number of comments questioned the timing of the referendum, suggesting it may be rushed or not well-publicized. Some respondents advocated for educational campaigns to inform voters about the implications of the proposed changes. Others raised concerns about specific charter provisions, such as term limits and fiscal accountability, with mixed opinions on whether these should be strengthened or relaxed.

A few responses included suggestions for alternative approaches, such as forming a citizen advisory committee or conducting a phased review of the charter. There were also comments highlighting the need to address equity and representation issues within the charter.

Overall, the most common themes were calls for greater transparency, more public involvement, and careful consideration of the impacts of any proposed changes.
