Many respondents expressed concerns about the effectiveness and enforcement of the TMDL Action Plan, with several highlighting the need for stronger accountability and clearer metrics for progress. There was frequent mention of the importance of public education and community engagement to ensure long-term success and buy-in. Respondents often called for increased funding and resources for local governments and organizations tasked with implementation, noting that current support is insufficient for meeting goals.
Stormwater management and agricultural runoff were repeatedly identified as major sources of pollution that require more targeted strategies. Several responses emphasized the need for innovative solutions, such as green infrastructure and incentives for best management practices. Some respondents [e.g., specifically requested more transparency in reporting and easier access to data on progress.
