The Virginia Beach Police Department is updating its mission statement and needs your input. Your participation is important because we realize how critical it is to develop a mission statement that reflects the values of our community. In the 20 years since our current statement was written, much has changed within policing and our city. As such, this presents a unique opportunity for you to help shape the organizational mission of the Virginia Beach Police Department for decades to come. Please help by completing this short survey.
The survey will be open through May 31, 2019.

The Virginia Beach Police Department is committed to providing a safe community and improving the quality of life for all people. We accomplish this by delivering quality police services and enforcing laws with equity and impartiality. In partnership with the community, we reduce crime through public education, prevention, and awareness. Thank you for helping us with this. The Virginia Beach Police Department Mission Statement Communications Workgroup is composed of civilian and sworn personnel of the Virginia Beach Police Department and the City Attorney’s Office. Our objective is to gather input from the community regarding constructing a new mission statement.
