The Virginia Beach Police Department is committed to providing a safe community and improving the quality of life for all people. We accomplish this by delivering quality police services and enforcing laws with equity and impartiality. In partnership with the community, we reduce crime through public education, prevention, and awareness. 1. City of Fremont Police: Our mission is to provide “Public Safety through Professional Law Enforcement.”

2. Boston University Police Department: “We, the members of the Boston University Community Policing Services, are a team of professionals committed to supporting a department philosophy that builds partnerships and empowers its Boston University Community to work collectively in reducing crime and the fear of crime while improving the quality of life at Boston University.”

3. Los Angeles Police Department: “It is the mission of the Los Angeles Police Department to safeguard the lives and property of the people we serve, to reduce the incidence and fear of crime, and to enhance public safety while working with the diverse communities to improve their quality of life. Our mandate is to do so with honor and integrity, while at all times conducting ourselves with the highest ethical standards to maintain public confidence.”

4. Raleigh Police Department: “In the spirit of service, the Raleigh Police Department exists to preserve and improve the quality of life, instill peace, and protect property through unwavering attention to our duties in partnership with the community.”

Thank you for helping us with this. The Virginia Beach Police Department Mission Statement Communications Workgroup is composed of civilian and sworn personnel of the Virginia Beach Police Department and the City Attorney’s Office. Our objective is to gather input from the community regarding constructing a new mission statement.
